A Profound Opportunity for Me: Glass
Donation protected
I'm Andrew Hathcock, a sophomore at Chestatee High School. I am a computer programmer, mathematician, scientist, researcher, software developer, and rigorous thinker.
Recently, I have been given the opportunity to become a Google Glass Explorer. This means that if I can raise $1500 in the next week, I can purchase Google's new device, Google Glass. Google Glass is an innovative headset designed to give people easy access to the digital world at all times. As a Glass Explorer, I hope to be able to help pioneer this emerging technology, and develop on this new platform. I hope to be able to develop new software for Glass before its commercial release so that when it is released, I will have made some aspect of it better for others. Specifically, I want to develop an app to utilize the augmented-reality display of Glass and its various sensors, such as its accelerometer, gyroscopic sensor, and compass to remotely pilot remote-controlled vehicles with head motions, while seeing a first-person-view of the vehicle's perspective. The opportunity to become a Glass Explorer is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for me, and I hope to be able to follow through with it. The Google Glass device costs $1500, and the money must be raised in the next 6-7 days.
