Linda's Final Days

As many of you may recall, when we first shared this campaign, it was titled "Linda's Road to Recovery". In just three short months, we went from being hopeful our Mother, Linda, would beat her insidious cancer, to sadly, being hopeful she will experience the least pain and the best care possible in her final days of life. If you have read the most recent update on the Caring Bridge site we are linked to, you know that treatment and a cure for our Mom's cancer is no longer in the realm of possibilities.  Our Mother is reaching the end of her life at only 64 years old. She was given two months to live by an Oncologist in late July. She may live longer, she may not. We just cannot know. What we do know is that her mental and physical capacities have been declining rapidly, and we are in communication with Hospice care. We are ready to move our Mom into full time Hospice care as soon as necessary.  In the meantime we (her four daughters) have been continuing to care for her. Her youngest daughter, Laura, has taken over as her full time care provider during the week. She made the decision to do this knowing she would have to take a leave of absence from her serving job in busy downtown Duluth. We do not know how we are going to afford professional end of life care, which costs $300-$500 a day. Right now, we are focused on simply getting through each day, but these financial burdens are still weighing on us. We are humbly requesting  help in this area. We will be spending whatever we need to spend to make our Mom's last days as comfortable and painless as possible.
