One of our Captains lost his house to a fire. This is a horrible thing that has happened to his family. Please take time to check out this link. Thank you! Lets help the Browning family if any question. Please call Greg Powell [phone redacted], or Michael Mora(530)308-9058. This Message was posted from Shannon this morning and i felt you should her the message from her. Good morning everyone! We wanted let everyone know straight from the horse's mouth what was going on as soon as we knew to prevent any rumors (as best as possible) before they could ever start and create more distress/worry!
So, here is a morning update, the four of us are doing ok. We quickly realized that both our dog, Princess and my cat Maverick perished in the fire. The material stuff, well, as we sort through the ashes, may be a bummer, but our pets are like family members to us and we're having the toughest time processing that they aren't with.
Princess has been an amazing dog for our family for the past 9 years. She found me when I was house sitting in Garden valley. She was emancipated and weak and jumped my truck like she belonged there. I posted flyers and found ads all over placer/el dorado counties trying to find her owners. Nada. Needless to say she has been through everything with us. My running partner, a babysitter, an amazing best friend to us. Always accepting everyone and everything that comes through our doors, including our daughters.
Maverick, oh Mavies, aka that damn cat! He has had me since kittenhood while I was at Cal poly. I snuck him into the "no pets" because I missed all of my animals back home. Most snugly kitty ever. His favorite things to do when he was younger was to wake me up, standing on my chest with whatever the heck he caught squirming and dangling over my face, while I was still in bed, he also played fetch-with tennis balls and twist ties! As he got older, even more so this past year at age 14, Maverick just loved to sit in my lap (on 100+ degree days or in the cold) and always begged to finish the milk in my cereal bowl. Yes, I'd give it to him. He never warmed up to the girls and we never pushed that issue, but we never just got rid of him because of it either. He is my fur baby forever. I'm going to miss all of our arguments (if you have cats, you likely know what I mean-if not, then I probably sound nuts, I'm good with that).

Sorry for posting so much. But it helps. We let them stay in because t was so cold and we wouldn't be gone too long. Rest in peace sweet friends. You may be gone but never forgotten.
