Help me achieve my dream!
Donation protected
When I was younger I spent alot of time in hospital for a injury to my eye. While I was there I met a lovely lady who was a play specialist. She brightened up my days and since then this has always been my dream! I had found my passion.
Fast forward a few years and I've found myself a single mum still trying to reach this goal. To become a registered play specialist you have to gain a foundation degree in healthcare play specialism. The nearest place to me was at the time london 200 miles away from home. Obviously I was unable to do this with 2 small children. So I attended university and did a BA hons in children education and development. This was to help me on my goal.
The beginning of 2019 I was informed tha Leeds City College where going to run the course! And i put my name down straight away and sourced myself a placement at harrogate hospital. I spoke to student finance and was assured I would receive the tuition loan as this course is the only course you can do to become registered with HPSET. I recieved the first payment and things were going great!
Then half way through my first year I recieved a call to tell me that after a quality control assessment it was decided that in fact I was not eligible and finding was withdrawn!
So now I'm stuck! I have all ready completed assignments, practical assessments and placement hours and I'm completely in my element! It has secured in my mind this is what I want
I have tried to secure finding from charities and organisations but most have already allocated there funding.
I do not want to have to give up on my dream. One way or another I will get there! It's just a blip in the road.
If you know of any local organisation or anyone who may be able to help. Please let me know xx
A massive thank you to Finola at the harrogate advertiser! Since she has been in touch student finance have now reinstated my first year funding! Something I dont think they would of done without her help!!
Just one more year to sort!!
