Mom Battling Breast Cancer Has One Dream

MOTHER OF TWO HAS ONE DREAM THAT WOULD GIVE ANYTHING TO BECOME A REALITY!!

My mother Tamara, is one of the most loving, caring and hardworking people I know. A year ago, she was an Administrative Assistant at a College, working part time at a gift shop, helping out with the elderly, working at the community kitchen, and volunteering as a doula in our local hospital. She has always put others before herself and always gives back when she can. She has a huge heart and a beautiful soul. Her life however, took a sudden turn this past year when she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. Around the same time my mom was diagnosed, my dad also lost his job as a school psychologist of over 10 years making them both realize that something in their lives needed to change.

With my dad not being able to find a full-time job and my mom continuing to battle cancer the two of them realized life is too short and that it was time to follow a dream. They decided to follow my mom's dream, which is to run/own a Bed and Breakfast. However, after attending a conference and looking at many Bed and Breakfasts their options were limited as they could not financially afford to buy an Inn. Plus, with my dad not working one of them needed to work full-time to have health insurance to pay for my mom's medical bills.

Then a few weeks after the conference, they received a phone call from a couple who ran the conference saying that a Bed and Breakfast in the White Mountains of NH were looking for some help. My mom thought that this was a sign and that it could be a stepping stone towards her dream. She decided to take a risk and take a sabbatical from work.

My parents moved to the White Mountains in New Hampshire to be Assistant Innkeepers. They now receive a very minimum income and still have many expenses that they still need to pay. However, they look at this as a stepping stone to learn about running a bed and breakfast but feel as if they are still pretty far away from my mother's ultimate dream.

As a daughter, I hate to see them struggle and with my mom this past month having another surgery I would give anything for her to finally have her dream. After one year (June 2014), their contract of being Assistant Innkeepers is over and they still do not have the finances to carry out her dream.

I am asking for the support and hearts of many, to give back to my mom and help me fulfill her dream this holiday. With these generous donations I hope to take care of some of her medical bills and provide her with the finances she needs for a down payment on her dream of a lifetime!

Thank you!
