LARYSA needs PANCREATECTOMY

Donation protected

I started this journey several years ago, around 2012 while still living in NJ. It began with the removal of my gall bladder. However, my disabling abdominal pain returned with a vengeance within months of this surgery.
When we moved to Florida in December 2014, I saw another G.I. doctor who after many months , diagnosed me with Idiopathic Chronic Pancreatitis after performing and endoscopic ultra sound in October of 2015. He treated me for the next year with the least invasive medicine possible, ultimately performing 2 celiac plexus blocks for pain within 2+ months of each other. They did not work.
His recommendation was for a total pancreatectomy with auto islet cell transportation and referred me to a physician in Alabama. This doctor would not perform the surgery. By this time, I already saw no less than 9 different doctors, none of whom could agree as to the course of treatment to stop my pain.
We then traveled to Dallas To Baylor University Hospital for yet another opinion. They too denied me the pancreatectomy but recommended I get an ERCP, which scopes the pancreas, when I get home to Florida.
Finally, I went to see another doctor on May 22nd in Florida hospital in Orlando who is nationally renowned in this field. He absolutely agreed with my local doctor and recommended me to have a total pancreatectomy at Minnesota University Hospital where this surgery was pioneered in the 70's.
I am looking for assistance with all of my current outstanding hospital bills totalling approximately $10,000.00. In addition, I need to raise funds for the trip to Minnesota. This would include the 4-6 week stay in the hospital, along with hotel accomodations and car rental for my husband, and round trip airline tickets. I have been out of work since February 24, 2017 due to horrific pain and other unpleasant problems related to this disease. My husband has been on disability since 2013 from his heart disease. Currently, I do not qualify for any other government assistance programs. Social Security said my review may possibly be in September 2017. Lastly, my personal insurance is through COBRA which runs $650.00 month. This does not include coverage for my husband either.
Unfortunately, this is the only option for treatment so I may be able to lead a normal life again and eat without pain or hospitalization. We have already excercised every other option we could think of. Anybody who knows us, knows we are very proud people and have worked hard for everything. This is our last option and very last hope for our current situation.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL
