5K-a-day March 21 Ciaran, Nichola & Squad!

On July 11th 2020, I collapsed during a football training match at Crumlin United Football Club. I suffered a cardiac arrest and needed urgent medical treatment. I was treated immediately by concerned teammates, coaches and club members as well as others nearby. The club's defibrillator was brought into action and CPR undertaken swiftly.
I must also pay a massive thanks to the Air Ambulance NI (in partnership with the NI Ambulance Service) for the quick response to the scene and for their treatment on the pitch.
All this together ultimately kept me alive until I was admitted to the RVH, Belfast where I underwent months of treatment after being diagnosed with an underlying heart condition that caused the cardiac arrest.
Ciaran Caldwell, the first team manager at Crumlin United FC, has unbelievably decided to start some fundraising on behalf of the AANI to show some gratitude and support for their work that day and every day!
He has decided to run at least 5k-a-day, every day during the month of March 2021.
That's 31 days in total!!
To show our Family appreciation for a great cause, my wife Nichola Dorrian will also be undertaking this challenge!!
Donations are obviously very welcome. Why not get involved also to keep active and get some fresh air? Set yourself a target of 5k a day whether it be walk, run, cycle or whatever. If you would like to join the fundraising team, get in touch. The more the merrier!!
THE AIR AMBULANCE NORTHERN IRELAND provides Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for trauma incidents throughout Northern Ireland. They bring a medical crew to incidents and administer the very best pre-hospital care to those in need.
AANI is a charity and relies entirely on support from the public etc. £2million is needed each year to keep the air ambulance service operational.
We are very grateful for your support. Any contribution we can put together will make a valuable difference to a vital lifesaving service.
