Helping Angela and Rylynn

Donation protected
I'd like to tell you about a three-year-old little girl named Rylynn and her mommy, Angela. They live in New Lebanon and Angela is the best mother a child could ever ask for. Rylynn is an only child and she is Angela's world! Angela is a single parent and has raised Rylynn by herself and with the help of her parents. A few months ago Angela was bathing Rylynn when she noticed a lump on her side. She immediately became concerned. Since this was on a Sunday evening, she took her to the doctors office on Monday morning to have it checked out. The doctor shared Angela's concern and referred her to a specialist to get a biopsy. The biopsy was performed two days later. This is when their nightmare began. It was confirmed. Rylynn had stage three, Wilms cancer!

Within a week she was scheduled for surgery at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati. The plan was to remove all the cancer cells they could find. They had to remove one of her kidneys because the tumor was attached to it. The disappointment didn't stop there. Some of the cancer cells were attached to arteries and could not be removed. Rylynn had to undergo radiation treatments and is now in the process of six months of chemo. She has just started to lose her hair because of the chemo treatments.

Angela has not been able to work since this whole ordeal began. She has to stay home with Rylynn to attend to her needs and coordinate the multitude of treatments and doctor appointments. Rylynn's white blood count is dangerously low, so she can't be around a lot of people, especially other children. Because of her diminished immune system, she is at risk of contracting any illness quickly. Even the smallest complication could escalate into a major problem. In addition to the trips to the doctor's office for checkups, Angela and Rylynn must make weekly trips to Cincinnati for Rylynns treatments. They cannot afford the risk of exposure from additional caregivers or too many visits from friends.

Knowing that your child has cancer is devastating. The lack of income only serves to make things even more stressful. We really want to help ease some of Angela's burden. Additionally, we would love for them to have an extra special Christmas this year. With so much heartbreak and sadness, we want to add some sunshine and happiness to their lives. We are asking for donations to make this all possible.
