Out of the Ashes
One of the hallmark traits of a first responder is being able to put the emergent needs of others above your own. But what happens when a first responder is the one experiencing the emergency? One of our own has been put in this position and now needs our help.
Last night Kevin Brotzman, an EMT/FF with CareFlite EMS, lost everything he owned in a house fire. Kevin was able to get his family out before flames turned his home and everything in it into a pile of ashes. The family members were treated for minor injuries, and are otherwise doing well under the circumstances. Those that have met Kevin know he is very selfless, and is not one to ask for handouts. When meeting with him this afternoon he was asked what he needed. It was no surprise when he stated that all he needed was to get his kids some clothes and other essentials they would need; two boys ages 5 & 10, and a daughter age 8.
The road to recovery for this family will be a long one. Please consider donating anything you can to help them get back on their feet and being the healing process. Non-monetary donations can be brought to the Cleburne Admin office during regular business hours. Thank you and God Bless!!
