Help Us Build a School in Guatemala
Donation protected
Hi Everyone!
We're Stephanie and Brian and we have been given the incredible opportunity to travel to Guatemala in July 2014 to help build a bottle school for local children through the organization Hug It Forward (to learn more about Hug It Forward, please visit: http://hugitforward.org/). Bottle schools are built using "eco-bricks:" plastic bottles stuffed with inorganic trash. Entire communities come together to make the dream of educational opportunity a reality by building their own bottle school.
As college graduates, we believe that education is a basic human right that no child should be denied. Building bottle schools helps solve many of the environmental issues facing Guatemala and provides a safe learning environment for their children. To date, 29 bottle schools have been built in Guatemala with many schools planned in the near future.
The total cost for both of us to go on this trip is around $4,000. We are saving our money for this trip, but are also hoping to raise money to cover some of our travel expenses. We will also be fundraising throughout the year to raise money for the building costs of our bottle school. We want to make the world a better place, but need your help! Any donation would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
