A dear friend of mine, Melissa is only 26. She is mother to a beautiful six year old daughter and
is in a battle with Stage 3 Breast Cancer.
She is an inspiration and is sharing her journey with friends in family through her face book page: (Melissa Gipson- Kicking cancers butt).
For those of you who know Melissa, you know that her faith is strong & we are all BELIEVING that God is going to bring her to the other side of this and she will be healthier than ever. She says that she promised God if he helped her through this she would be as open as she could be about the process and everything going on with her. So many people think cancer doesn't happen until you're older, but cancer doesn't care how old you are!
This journey has been hard for Melissa.. really hard. Emotionally, physically, financially. The chemo leaves Melissa feeling very sick and weak. The insurance company won't approve things she needs to have done. Water tastes bad, everything tastes bad. It's hard to just drink water and eat healthy food when all you feel is miserable. However, when you talk to her she'll laugh about it or try and make light of it... and she always has a smile on her face.
On top of that, Melissa was laid off from her job just three days after being diagnosed with cancer and is having a difficult time finding a new one. It's hard enough facing one of these devastating events, let alone both at the same time!!
Every dollar helps, (SERIOUSLY, even just a dollar), I promise that every dollar will go straight to help Melissa fight cancer, so she can stress less and focus on getting healthy!! If you can't donate we understand, but please pray for Melissa and her family, prayer works if we work it! <3
