Climbing is dangerous amd no matter how safe we are, sometimes the unexpected happens, even with the most experienced climbers. Kelsey Eng is the most enthusiastic, positive, and try-hard climber at the crag. Her climbing group and others have witnessed her determination when she's tackeled short but horribly cruxy overhanging cracks at Ragged Mountain. Despite bruises and scratches she persistently went back each time and it's paid off. She sends all the climbs she puts her mind to!
Last year she took a 150 ft tumble down a steep loose rock on the way out on a rainy day. A hard working rescue group worked hard on difficult terrain to move her out. Luckily the extent of her injuries was a concussion and brusing.
And then on a beautiful April Saturday this year, Kelsey took a 20 ft fall on the wall due to equipment malfunction and had to be airlifted due to her injuries. She sustained a broken tailbone. We are hoping to raise (or at least put a sizeable dent in) the $14,000 Lifestar Helicopter ride that was required to get her medical attention. Please help us show her community is behind her because she is a kind and caring person who would do the same for anyone else.
