Larry’s Legacy
Larry Gonzalez was a life long resident of Los Angeles. Through elected and appointed positions, from youngest member of the LAUSD School Board to a commissioner on the Los Angeles fire commission, Larry always fought for the representation and investment into the overlooked east side communities stretching from his boyhood home of Estrada courts in Boyle Heights to his twilight in Highland Park. While in hospice Larry learned that his grandson’s baseball field lacked lights and limited the time in which practice and games could take place. Always thinking of solutions Larry assumed he would have time to solve this need, knowing the requirements to fund and approve a project of this scope. Unfortunately Larry lost his battle with time before he could secure funding for the Los Angeles Little League field to attain lights. In his memory we hope to raise enough money to install lights In Larry’s memory in order to give another generation of children from the east side a chance to play a game under the lights !!!
