Krystal is our 27 year old niece. She is a respiratory therapist who works in the NICU of an inner city hospital in San Antonio and is pursuing a degree Nurse Practioner. She was enjoying a busy, active life until suddenly...... April 4th, 2018 Thursday Krystal was admitted to Methodist Floyd Curl Hospital. April 5th, 2018 Friday She was diagnosed with AML Leukemia. Starting April 7th, 5/30pm she began her chemo treatment. ...24 hours a day for 7 days. In addition, the first 3 days they gave her a second chemo that takes about 30 minutes. Due to the need to take her blood counts to 0 she has remained in the hospital.

Krystal’s insurance deductible is $6,000. She also still has the usual expenses like car insurance, etc. As a chemo patient living in a sterile environment she also has unique needs like aloe drinks, special lotions, extra pillow cases, etc.
