El Camino de Santiago
In June/July 2014, Lidia Garces, and I, Francesca Siracusa, will be walking approximately 800 kilometres from St. Jean Pied de Port, France to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. This will take approximately 32 days.
This walk is to raise money for the following two causes:
1) Destiny Child Rescue: this non-profit organisation focuses on rescuing, restoring, protecting and empowering children who have been in the sex trafficking industry. The organisation opens and runs shelters in Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Mozambique and India.
2) The St. Teodora Homeless Shelter: This emergency shelter rescues families in urgent need of housing and protection. The families are offered food, basinal medical care and a place to stay while working with a social assistant on their integration into society.
100% of proceeds will go directly to the causes.
