Our 66 year old father or as most who know him as Papa O, Oscar,Dennis suffered critical injuries Saturday evening 11/16/19. He was in a crosswalk Saturday evening heading to his brother's birthday dinner at a popular restaurant in town. As he crossed , a vehicle struck him at 30+mph. It is a miracle he is alive today. The driver did not have a license nor insurance.
Papa is in critical condition at Harborview ICU. He suffered 3 fractured ribs, broken Tibia (5 hour surgery) , blood transfusions and his head was split open from front to back100+ stitches. Papa prides himself of his dark head of hair and likes to call himself Tom Selleck. He has yet to get to see the damage to his head.Anyone who has has the pleasure of meeting him will tell you he has made them laugh.
Papa has always been given back to his community of White Center. He was a sponsor for several years of his towns little league. He donated to EHS for their basketball program. Children not being able to afford sports programs he would offer to cover their expenses. Any local fundraising event he could , he would attend. Papa is an amazing Grandfather to not only his biological grandkids but to all their friends and families. Any family in need he would find a way to help.
Although his company has passed through owners, Papa has worked for his company since he was 18. He works tirelessly and as hard as the "kids" in the company. His injuries will force him into retirement. He is the sole income for his household. His hospital bills and lack of employment will most definitely impact their life greatly. We are asking for donations to help our parents get through this difficult time. Thank you in advance!
