Jacob's Journey

Donación protegida
Baby Jacob was born on September 25, 2013. Immediately after birth he was taken to the NICU and stayed there for 2 weeks. While he was there his oxygen levels dropped because he had stopped breathing on his own and he was fully intubated. He was transferred to Stanford Children's hospital the next day where the doctors ran many tests and concluded he has a neurological disease, but there are no definate answers. On October 22, we received news that baby Jacob is unable to sustain life due to little brain activity and will inevitably pass away. The next day, family gathered at Stanford to say goodbye to Jacob as they would take out the breathing tube. The breathing tube was taken out and Jacob started breathing on his own!!! What a miracle!!! Over the next few weeks, Jacob continued to improve. He still stopped breathing at times, but was able to come out of it on his own and start breathing again. On Friday, November 15, Jacob was released from the hospital and got to go home! He was home for 4 days when he took a turn for the worse. He stopped breathing again and this time he did not come out of it on his own. CPR was performed on Jacob and he regained consciousness. He was taken to the ER and later transferred back to Stanford Children's hospital. Now we wait for answers. There has been a lot of traveling and other unexpected expenses for Mark and Tanya. Go Fund Me has been set up for those of you who feel called to help financially. Jacob passed away in the loving arms of his parents around 7 PM on December 28, 2013. He will forever be loved and never forgoten.
