Christmas for 21 local 8th Graders
Donation protected
This Christmas my mom (Sue Henry) decided to "adopt" 21 local 8th grade students and provide them with a few things to call their own. Many of these students live in local motels or their family car and won't be celebrating Santa's visit down the chimney like so many of us will be.
We have worked with the local school counselor who will take each student shopping and let them pick out the items that they want for Christmas. It has been coordinated with Kohl's and Target to ensure that the students will receive the best prices so they can get a few items.
Our goal this year is to provide each student with $100 to spend as they would like. We understand that there are many places doing local toy drivers for Christmas, but we felt that 8th graders are a little old for toys.
We appreciate every dollar that you donate. We fully understand that it is the holiday season and that money is tight for everyone. We are hoping through the use of social media and compounded donations, we can reach our goal of 21 students receiving $100 each this year to bring a little joy and hope to them for a minute.
Thanks so much for your support and willingness to give when times are tough for all of us.
We need to raise the funds by December 10th to have time to take 21 teenagers shopping for Christmas!
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.
