Surgery Recovery Expenses

My name is Jordan Helm, I'm a husband, father, and a framing contractor from Woodland Park, Colorado. I was involved with an accident at work in October of 2017 where a truss system fell over while I was in it and broke my right fibula. After working and living with pain for several months after the facture healed, I recently went to have my ankle looked at again. It turns out the injury went beyond a simple facture and I need to have ankle reconstruction surgery done. My insurance will cover the surgery, but as a subcontractor, I have no workman's compensation and will have no income while I recover over the course of about four months.
