Avery's Child Life Internship

For those of you who know me, you know that I will not let Muscular Dystrophy stop me or slow me down. That being said, I wanted to share the next story of my life. Through long weeks of prayer I am ecstatic to share what God has been doing in my life, He opened doors that I have never imagined to be possible. This summer, I have been given the opportunity to do my Child Life Practicum at the Red Cross Children's Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. This is going to be an amazing opportunity for me because I will be able to gain new perspectives as I work in the pediatric burn unit and trauma center. I am eager to learn new ways to use my past experiences to support children in need. I cannot wait to begin this new journey, however, I will need some help getting over there.
