Zara's hoist and equipment needs

Zara is a 9 year old girl with severe/profound global developmental delay with cerebral palsy due to a stroke in utero. Zara has uncontrollable epilepsy since she was 11 weeks old. She also has CVI (cortical visual impairment) and is non verbal. Just over a year ago she had a PEG feeding tube fitted and has gained a regular healthy weight since. She has a dislocated hip and is at a high risk of the other hip becoming dislocated if she is not hoisted correctly. Due to Zara’s condition she needs round the clock care. She is currently sleeping and bathing upstairs and it is becoming more and more difficult for her parents to lift her. Our overall goal is to transfer Zara’s sleeping and bathing to downstairs. We have already changed a living space downstairs into a wet room for Zara. We are looking to build on an extension for a bedroom for her and also have a ceiling hoist fitted. We qualify for a grant for most of the work but unfortunately there is still a shortfall of €15,000. With your help we are trying to raise the balance to enable Zara to have a more comfortable and safer day to day living experience. We would be very grateful of any and all support you could give.
