Odell McCallum Community Center

Thanks to Mr. Odell McCallum and other concerned citizens in 1998 funds were raised to construct a community center.  The Odell McCallum Community Center has served the Wynne, Arkansas area for over 15 years.  There are summer and after school activities held each day, along with weekend events such as baby/bridal showers, meetings, and banquets.  The McCallum Center has also been a place for youth to have summer work experience to build work ethic/history, while receiving pay.  There is a remaining debt of $400,000 left on the facility which limits the activities and opportunities that could be happening for young people at the McCallum Center.  Getting the facility paid off will help to sustain and expand the services provided for young people in this small community.  With very limited funding and the constant strain of the remaining debt, we are in jeopardy of having to suspend all activites and possibly do away with them all together.  Help is needed immediately to ensure that the McCallum Center remains open for the youth in this community.
