PLEASE HELP THIS FAMILY

Hello My Name is Elise, I am writing this for A Very Dear Friend of Mine whose family has been homeless since August. This family has been living a nightmare since her a Husband lost his job due to Covid. Since July 14 there has no longer been any Law implemented to help those in need to pay their rent or mortgage, nor preventing and protecting families from being evicted from their homes. When Albertans were receiving this help their Landlord adamantly refused to lower the rent at all, Rodney received $2000.00 a month from Cerb/Unemployment and there rent was $2000.00, from March to the first week of August they were having to sell their belongings for groceries, utilities and any necessities they absolutely needed. No Family should have to go through what they have for 7long months. Please if you have the means to help this family get a home before the Brutally Cold Winters we have in Alberta is here. I am an RN, that works 12-14hr shifts and a Single Mom. I was in desperate need of a Day Home for my daughter, I was given Stacey’s name from the Principal at our Daughters’ school, I contacted her that evening and that is when our lifelong Friendship began. The Wings’ are An Amazing Family, A Beautiful Selfless Family always there to help anybody they can. For 15yrs she treated my Daughter like her own, Stacey refused to allow me to pay her. She is one of the most Selfless, Kind, Generous and Empathetic people I have ever met. They have taken in countless Teenage Girls who needed a safe and loving home for over 17yrs.   In March, her Husband was laid off due to Covid 19, at first I thought this would give their Family some time to all be together, Rodney has always had a demanding job, always gone away working more than he has been home for over 20yrs to provide for their 3children. For the past 7months Rodney received $2000.00 Cerb/Unemployment, once their rent was paid they had absolutely no money left over. We finally thought their nightmare was over when Rodney got a job in B.C. where Stacey is from. They gave away and donated all their furniture, 14bags of clothes for children of all ages,paid 1st months rent and damage deposit for their new home in B.C. They were able to do this and were Incredibly Thankful to all, that helped this huge move to another Province. I never wanted my friend to go but seeing them Struggle until they had nothing hurt me to my core. A week in a half later and everything took a turn for the worst, the company Rodney was going to work for was shut down indefinitely due to Covid. Just when they thought their nightmare was over they were now in a worse predicament because the cost of moving to a different Province & all money used such as their 1st month rent and damage deposit, utility deposits, none of their money was refundable as this Pandemic is devastating families and businesses financially worldwide. Stacey has MS, Arthritis & 8 bulged discs in her back, she suffers daily making it impossible for her to work. Stacey and her Children Need A Home as soon as Possible. This is Destroying A Family, they are terrified, exhausted, scared and depression has reared it’s ugly head as they have been living in fear for 7months. They Sincerely are one of the most Giving, Selfless Families you could ever meet and it’s heartbreaking knowing they have lost everything trying to survive after having nothing left after paying their rent, legally not able to move due to their lease, nor could the have afforded to move.  For Rent,Damage Deposit, Deposit for utilities, groceries she desperately needs help. We have looked at several apartments and for that alone will cost $2400.00 for rent &damage deposit and $700 for Utility Deposits & there are still some outstanding Utilities she has to Pay in Full to have reconnected. They need some groceries and some money to have for her medication and any unexpected emergency.    I beg You with All My Heart and Soul any Donation will help, if we Unite  together I know we can Save this Family.
