Erica Payan-MS Fighter

Erica is my 34 year old sister. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in April of 2013 after losing sensation in one of her arms and didn’t really think much of it, but we encouraged her to get it checked out any way, so she went to the ER and after extensive testing, because the doctors didn’t let her leave, nor did they give up, it came out to be it was Multiple Sclerosis. We were so confused and scared since we had just lost our mother unexpectedly a couple years earlier with no warning. We were unsure if we were going to lose her as well, right then and there. Throughout the years, the disease has progressed and she has had flare ups where she has had to be hospitalized, but this time has been different, this time we were told she has Progressive-Relapsing MS (PRMS). She will be released with a cane and will need physical therapy as her gait is not well and she will need to completely stop working. She will be started on some type of infusion medication and see if it will help slow down the progression of her symptoms. We will be helping her with obtaining disability paperwork; but in the meantime any help is greatly appreciated! She is the mother of a 10 year old boy. She is a beautiful person inside and out and as much as I wish my mom was here to give me and my sisters guidance as to how to handle this situation, I know we will not give up!!
