Recover from a house fire

Hi, my name is Karin and I have had a run of bad luck recently. First, on March 9, I slipped and fell in the snow outside our house and a log that was piled up on the steps fell on my face. Second, on March 12, a passing snowplow kicked a snow chunk the size of a basketball and broke our picture window. Then on March 14, a fire broke out in our fireplace and chimney. We tried to pour water on the flames but had to call 911.

Thankfully, the firefighters extinguished the flames, but had to tear into our attic to soak the insulation with water to ensure against sparks taking down our whole house.

Mainly our living room and kitchen are affected. Our living room floor and ceiling are ruined.

My husband and I need to rebuild the outside wall of our house, the ceilings and floor.

Working in low-paying jobs in rural Minnesota all our lives, we can barely afford to pay for car insurance let alone house insurance. My husband is retired and I am now a substitute teacher.

Any help the public can provide is appreciated.
