Keeping Our Home For The Holidays

PLEASE Help Us To Stay in Our Home by Debra Stanton
Our story started well over a year ago, after living several years in South Carolina with bad jobs and misfortunes. My husband decided to pack up and drive across the country to start a position in the Pacific NW, Washington state. Hoping things would turn around for his family. Well, if bad luck can follow it has definitely accomplished that. We lost our car, and home to foreclosure in South Carolina because of financial hardship. So, after finding a mover "on line" which turned out to be the biggest mistake of all. They turned out to be a "scam-artist" and actually not movers at all. We had to leave things behind due to their incapabilities which lead to vandalism at our house we were trying to sell. (Those items left behind were finally delivered almost a year later.) Now, I come to the part about renting our current house which was our only option we had. We found a home that fits our needs and have been happy living here over the year. Things didn't get better as we had hoped. Putting all our monies towards the move put us in a financial bind, and to make things worse my husband lost his job. But, with our families help we managed to stay put a little longer. Now after going through several disappointing layoffs, my husband is facing great challenges to find another position in the area. Also, facing health issues that without insurance can't be helped. I too, have been searching for positions to help financially. I currently have a small pet portrait business to bring in a little extra. With mounting other bills and trying to keep up with only unemployment benefits, we have run out of money and time to save enough for December's rent. We will be evicted and have to pack up a four bedroom home for which we have no place to go. There is also a possibility we could lose our animals. Not all rental homes are able to take them in. (They have been our "stess-relievers" and dearest family members.) I ask for your help to keep us in our home until things get better. Christmas is fast approaching and we have uncertainty to our very existence. Thank you, from the Stanton's.
