Mo’s Medical Needs

Donation protected
In November 2017, my mom started having abnormal medical issues. What started out as a UTI quickly developed into what we thought was much worse. We were told her cervical cancer may have come back (she’s been in remission for 24 years). After 2 surgical biopsies and 1 non-surgical, our prayers were answered and all testing came back benign - it was just VERY infected, necrotic tissue. After her hysterectomy and precautionary radiation 24 years ago, she now suffers with irreparable damage from the radiation. In addition to that, she also has a fistula, which is an abnormal hole in her bladder, which makes it very easy to continue contracting UTIs. Because of this, she has 2 nephrostomy tubes in her kidneys to keep urine from going into her bladder and has to continuously take antibiotics in order for the UTI to not return. At her latest checkup, we were told that her bladder shrunk by 1/3 it’s normal size because of the tubes diverting urine from it. She is scheduled for surgery in April to repair the fistula, however this is not a guaranteed procedure because of so much shrinkage - her chances of forming another fistula are much higher. In addition to all of the medical issues and surgeries over the past few months, she worked part time and had no benefits for health insurance, paid time off, or short term disability. Thankfully, we were able to get her approved for Medicaid and aid within the hospital she is being treated at. We also applied for disability, as she cannot perform a job in a normal capacity, but she was recently denied. The plan now is to revert back to the original and apply for early retirement this summer, so that guaranteed income will be available to her. Because this is a lengthy process and will take time, and with no steady income over the past 4 months, savings are drying up. We know money is tight for everyone these days, but if you are able to contribute in any way, please know that it is greatly appreciated! I want her to be able to focus all of her energy on healing, and not about finances. If a financial donation cannot be made, please offer prayers instead. We know anything is made possible through our Lord! Thank you, and God bless!-Ally
