At this space and time in our society, not much is more important than mental health. Studies reveal that mentally healthy lifestyles increase academic and professional aptitude, interpersonal functioning, and overall success and mentally detrimental choices often serve as contributing factors to the social ills which plague our communities, including poverty, crime, and addiction.

MESH (Mental, Emotional, & Spiritual Health), Inc.  is a non-profit corporation with the mission to reduce stigma surrounding mental health and enrich the lives of students from marginalized communities by increasing knowledge, practice and workforce preparedness in the wellness and mental health fields.

Similar to the explosion of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) programming within the past 20 years, MESH is a mental health education program that will prepare primary and secondary students for careers in the fields of social work, counseling, psychology, marriage & family therapy, psychiatry, and alternative/holistic wellness.

Beginning in the 2019-2020 academic year, MESH will pilot a 4-tier program aimed at introducing elementary, middle, high school, and college students in Nashville, TN to healthy mental, emotional, and spiritual practices to positively influence their behavior and interpersonal interactions and increase their likelihood to enter the workforce in wellness and mental health-related fields.

It is our goal to advance and normalize the conversation around students seeking and participating in mental health services, which in turn will have far reaching effects on their academic performance, responses to negative environmental stimuli, and abilities to resolve conflict, skill build, and cope during tough situations. We hope that by shaping students' understanding of mental wellness, we will influence them to become mental health advocates and practitioners.

To support students from marginalized communities in the city of Nashville and expand our services to other at-risk areas throughout the nation, we need your help. Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated!
