Help Alia Grace

It has been a long time since there has been an update, Alia turned 5 in November. Her condition continues to deteriorate. She can no longer walk, talk or hold her own head up. She is on a feeding tube because she cannot eat or drink. There is still no cure for MLD. The one thing it hasn't taken yet is her beautiful smile and her sunny disposition. We are in awe of how she has handled her disease. She continues to fight everyday. God bless all of you who have donated in the past and present. Words cannot express the gratitude felt by her parents and everyone's life she has touched. Her mother had to leave her job when Alia was diagnosed and they are trying to get by on one paycheck. Alia Grace is a happy and smart 3 year old little girl. She is an affectionate and beautiful child inside and out. She frequently asks her mommy, "Can we run?" Alia loves to sing "Happy Birthday" to her Daddy (no matter what day of the year it is) and smothers her dog Puggie and cat Belle with kisses. Until recently, she was a seemingly perfect and normal developing 3 year old. Her sudden impaired walking, frequent falling and pain caused her parents great concern. On March 25th of 2016, she was diagnosed with Metachromatic Leukodystrohpy. MLD causes extensive damage to the Central Nervous System and Peripheral Nerves. This is a rare disease, so rare in fact that Alia Grace is the only documented case in NH, according to the MLD Foundation.
