Jordan was born on April 5, 2000 in Montclair, CA. She was an extremely happy girl, always smiling. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. Jordan changed the world and so many people felt her spirit, even those who hadn’t met her. She lived in Riverside from birth until 2011 when we moved to Hesperia. She was an avid softball player in both Riverside with RGSA, making All-Stars. She played in Hesperia both in travel ball and making the team with Oak Hills High School although she was never able to play with the high school team. Jordan loved to draw and paint. Drawing was her favorite activity, even before softball. She was so talented in her artwork and wanted to attend the Art Institute after high school this coming May. Jordan will be announced at her graduation ceremony on May 30. In 2014, Jordan was diagnosed with mastoiditis and cerebral venous thrombosis. It was supposed to be a rare occurrence, a fluke. She was supposed to recover and go back to playing softball, drawing her pictures, living her life.
In 2015 she faced multiple surgeries from lumbar drains, lumbar shunt, revisions, and eventually a vp shunt all to save her vision from intracranial hypertension.
As time went on, Jordan missed school, her friends, her life. For 3 years Jordan battled with unknown, undiagnosed chest pain and illness. Within the last week and even the last few hours of her life, we were informed she had a form of myelofibrosis, lymphoma and alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (SZ) on top of the venous thrombosis and intracranial hypertension. She faced multiple operations but her body just couldn’t fight any longer.
We had no warning. We didn’t know we had such little time left with her. Instead of planning her 18th birthday, her prom, and her high school graduation, we are planning her funeral services. Saying goodbye to our Jordan, our jellybean, our J, is the hardest thing we have faced. Jordan was fascinated with Paris since a young girl. Her dream was to move to Paris and pursue her art. She used to learn French on her own time and would frequently tell us bonjour or je t’aime. After battling sickness for the past few years, Jordan passed on March 7, 2018 in Loma Linda, CA with her mom and dad by her side. All the pain and grief is over,Every restless tossing passed; I am now at peace forever,Safely home in heaven at last.
