Surgery for Poppy
Hello! Those of you who know us may know that our family fosters kittens for Lost Paws Rescue of Texas. Because I am a nurse and my daughter works for a vet, we tend to take the kittens with medical issues, rehabilitate them, and adopt them out to loving homes. Poppy is 4 months old, and she had a prolapsed rectum when she came to us. She has already had 2 unsuccessful procedures. There is a surgical procedure that could be done by a specialist that would resolve the issue, which involves surgically attaching her rectum inside her abdomen so that it won’t continue to prolapse, but the estimated cost of the procedure is $2000-3000. Our rescue group is a nonprofit and operates on a narrow margin, and can’t cover this cost. Their only option at this point would be to euthanize her. However, I can’t in good conscience choose that for her, since she has a condition for which there is a surgical fix and she has a good chance of having a normal life. And of course, she is the sweetest kitten ever, and in spite of her condition she purrs constantly, loves pets, and is playful. She is an otherwise healthy kitten. Please help us raise the funds to help us pay for her surgery!
