Brian was diagnosed with a brain tumor in August of 2016. He underwent brain surgery in September of 2016 where it was discovered he had stage 3 brain cancer. Since then he has done multiple forms of therapy including radiation and chemo. On February 14th, we found that despite ongoing treatment the tumor has continued to grow and ultimately entered into Hospice exactly one week ago. Our greatest wish was to keep him at home surrounded by family and friends to care for him. Sadly the progression of the tumor seems to be happening at a much more rapid pace than anyone could predict and it has become very apparent that he is no longer safe to remain at home. In little over a week, he has declined to the point of being totally unable to be left alone and requires the assistance of 2 people to even be able to walk. He has for the most part lost all function on the right side of his body and has been having difficulty with swallowing and major memory issues. Because of this and some other behavior issues it has become a major safety concern and an emergency placement into a skilled facility is in process. His insurance will not cover this facility and we have been told that the cost of his care could run as high as $7000.00 a month. Any and all funds raised will be used to cover the cost of this facility. As stated earlier our only goal is to keep Brian as safe and comfortable as possible for whatever time he has left. We will be grateful for any and all help we receive. Thank you and God Bless!!
