Lets get lovely Jeff Luther back on his feet

The family went to Mexico for a holiday, but Jeff unfortunately became ill soon after arriving. The doctors are still running tests to confirm a diagnosis. Currently Jeff cannot walk unaided. His condition is not improving and without further tests and treatment his prognosis remains unclear. Jeff was in the Mexico City hospital for one week on his own, isolated from his family. It is not possible for him to fly back to the UK in his current state due to the severity of the illness and the discomfort he is experiencing. Bex (Jeff’s wife) was not allowed to be with him at the hospital but has moved, with their 3 young kids (11, 6 and 9 months) to be as close as possible. As you can imagine, it has been really scary for them all, Jeff being alone in a foreign country with no idea when treatment will take effect.

The Luthers do have travel insurance but as we all know, these things take time and that is something that they just don’t have right now if they want to get back. Jeff needs rehabilitation to get to a point he can get on that plane. In order to return home Jeff needs a ‘Fit to Fly’ certificate. With our help we can get Jeff the urgent help and treatment he needs to get him and his family home, and help cover the costs of the hotel so the family can be together. 

He has been visited today by a rehabilitation specialist and shall see them every day for the next week; in the hope that he becomes more mobile and comfortable enough to fly home. Their return  flights are booked for March 10th so with our help we can get them on the flight if not before. 

We know that many of us will be on hand to help the Luthers when they get home with the daily tasks of life but having the immediate worry of money eased, a plan for treatment in place and the escalating health care costs covered, will give them all the piece of mind to get through this painfully difficult time. 

Getting them home is just the first step and Jeff still has a long way to go before he can say he has recovered; and in what capacity that is, is still yet to be known. For those that know Jeff you will understand how hard this has all been for him. We also know Jeff has happily given money to his friends in need before and would always be the first to help out anyone if he thought it was needed. Jeff and Bex are the ultimate givers of time, energy and love and have made such a positive impact on so many of our lives. Now we get the opportunity to give back to them - not only with our own energy and time, but also by giving whatever we feel we can financially do to help our Jeffery get back on those lovely long legs again.
