To those who are viewing this page you have either known a member of the Guerrero family or someone has told you of the hardships this family is currently undergoing and needs help. I writing this donation page as a friend of Pete Guerrero, who is currently a student at the University at Albany, whose story is unlike anyone I have ever come across. I met Pete when he was enrolled at Potsdam University through one of my best friends from high school. The first impressions I had of him were a nice, laid back, well-spoken friendly kid who seemed to have his entire life in line. What I didn't know that was that his mother was suffering from cancer. This burden should not be held by any person let alone a teenager. As time progressed, in August 2013, Pete decided to transfer closer to his home, Albany, NY, in order to spend more time with his sickly mother and help out with his younger sister who is still in high school. Since I had met Pete from back home I decided to befriend him at college because I had been going to Albany already for 2 years and it seemed like the thing to do. As this past semester progressed it had seemed to be looking up for the health concerns of his mother until about a month ago. She was rushed for an emergency procedure because of a complication from the cancer and was hospitalized once again. Unfortunately things like this for Pete seemed "normal", he rushed back home to be with his mother once again. But somehow his mother's strength prevailed again and was allowed to go back home. After everything that had happened it seemed that this 20 year old college student couldn't possibly go through anymore pain. But last night, November 9th 2013, he received a call from his mother a time he told me, "was past her bedtime". She informed him that his father was being rushed to the hospital from a heart attack. Mr. Guerrero's health is still uncertain and the entire family needs our help. In the past 2 months this kid has been faced with losing both of his parents something that no one should ever have to deal with. This burden faced by this family is something that should never have to be dealt with alone, that being said anything anything anyone feels like they can contribute to this family please do so because this family has already been through so much it's about time they are given something instead of things being taken away.
