Friends of Garrett Scott

On Monday February 19, 2018, 7th grader Garrett Scott was in a terrible accident. He and his father Willie were working on a broken down skid steer, and in an instant Garrett's life was changed. When he reached in to move a battery cable, the cab, which was tilted up, slammed down on Garrett causing many injuries to his face and neck. He has jaw, dental, facial, and neck wounds that will take surgeries and a huge amount of care and medical treatment over many months. Garrett is a one of a kind boy. Hardworking, helpful, kind, loving, and a go-getter, Garrett is always the first student to lend a hand at his school or in any organization in which he is involved. This isn't by any coincidence either. His mother, Becky, and his father have set that example for him. Becky volunteers her time and services to all organizations' fundraisers and events, and is the first to step up and lend a hand when a friend is in need. Willie has also dedicated his time to these groups, friends in need, and to ensuring his children know how to pitch in and help. Garrett has the best kind of family from grandparents Morris and Sandy Faseler to his awesome aunts and uncle. Family, friends, and even strangers are praying for Garrett and his recovery as he goes into his first surgery today (2/23/18) and begins this long journey to healing. Garrett can't wait to get back to his favorite things: shooting sports, chicken showing, meat judging, spending time at Medina Lake, farming with his grandpa, and being outdoors hunting and enjoying nature. Although the family is insured, we all know that deductibles are high and there will be many things not covered throughout this process. If you feel called to help the Scott family with their many medical expenses, consider GoFundMe or helping with the Gun Raffle (info coming soon) by selling or buying tickets.
