My Son.....where to begin....he is now 19 years old and is a wonderful caring compassionate person.  All he wants out of life it to be able to go to school,work, see his friends and family and not be in constant pain or unable to participate in daily life.    SOME days are better than others but SOME days he has to stay in  dark quiet rooms in the basement .  Shawn has POST CONCUSSION SYNROME.  It has robbed him of his previous life for the past 3 years and more extremely  in the past 18 months.  We have been to doctors,neurologists, massage therapists, physiotherapists, cranial sacral therapists, chiropractors, and chiropractor neurologists.  SADLY Very limited improvement has occurred over the past 3 years.  The most improvement has occurred with his wonderful chiropractic neurologist.  During this time we have been doing a lot of research on POST CONCUSSION syndrome and how to best allow him to return to his previous existence.  He was involved in a variety of sports and was a social indiviual who was constantly busy with family, friends, school, and work.  All he dreams of now is returning to SOME semblance of that life. Due to his many interactions with MEDICAL profssionals he has decided that he wants to be a chiroprator so he can help others in pain.  Through our endless research we have found a clinic in Orlando Florida that speciaizes in concussion and other brain issues.  The clinic  is called Brain Plasticity, as this clinic is not in Canada it is not covered by Manitoba health.  My wonderful elementary classmates wanted to start a fundraiser to help pay for the treatment, flights, hotel,and food costs.  I WAS ABSOLUTELY OVERWHELMED by the caring and compassion of my childhood friends.  The saying is true, the friends you make a  children form special bonds.  Due to these wonderful people I have created a Go FUND ME campaign for my son.  All my son and I hope for is that this treatment will allow him to be the person he has dreamt of becoming.  Any assistance will change his life.  As a mom I am so looking forward to the day when he smiles and says...my head does not hurt, I am not dizzy, I dont feel naseous, I can see clearly, and  then he will no longer have to hide from the world he so wants to explore.  Thank you for reading my sons story.  If this story touches your heart please share and this will help my son Shawn get his life back.
