Hello! My name is Kelsey Lard and I am an Olympic recurve archer and a hopeful for the Unites States Olympic Archery Team. I am 1 of 16 women that are still continuing on to the 3rd stage of the Olympic trials. I am asking for your help in allowing my dream to continue!
My journey in archery started about 6 years ago. I started taking competitions seriously about 3 years ago, when I cut to part time work in order to train full time. During the past 3 years, I have increasingly committed more and more of my life to training. I have not only become a highly competitive archer, but an active coach in my club. I also give back to the archery community by serving as the vice president of a 501c3 archery non-profit.
Some of my major accomplishments over the past years have been numerous state championships, multiple top 10 and even a few top 5 finishes at national (US Archery Team) ranking tournaments, and 3rd at Versus MX international competition in Guadalajara, Mexico. I have also had the honor of being part of the Starbucks Elite Athlete Program for the past 4 years, 1 of only 17 athletes in 2019. I’m an American Archery and Gray Archery USA staff shooter. However, my greatest accomplishment thus far is being among the top 16 women still competing for the 2020 Olympic Team.
Achieving my goal won’t be cheap and there are not a lot of opportunities to make money in archery. Unfortunately, this means the only way to have the time to train 30 hours a week is through donations like yours. Every dollar donated brings me closer to achieving my goals. There are only two stages left in the trials process, one in April 2020 and the last in May 2020. Donations will help pay for tournament entry fees, travel and lodging, equipment, coaching, and the day to day expenses over the next 6 months.
