I remember when I first heard that one out of four women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, I immediately thought of my mom and sisters. There were four of us, after all. And even though there wasn't really any history of breast cancer in my family (and so the chances of it being a concern were low), I prayed that my mom and sisters would never have to face it - which left me. I never thought God would call me on that prayer, but He has. And that's okay.
