Hello! I’m Montana and I will be a college freshman this coming year. As the youngest of 7 kids, affording to go to a college that meets my educational needs for my chosen career path as a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist has been difficult. My aspirations of going to WVU have been put on hold because of funding. With many people applying for scholarships, and only so much financial aid to go around, I have about exhausted my options for financial help. I will be majoring in Biochemistry, and WVU is the closest school with that major/degree program. Since I am a Maryland resident, out-of-state tuition and additional expenses are significantly higher than what we can afford.
To give you a scope of my educational journey through high school and who I am as a person, here are all the activities I participated in and distinctions I earned throughout my high school career. I graduated with honors, was a 2-year member of the National Honor Society, earned the title of AP Scholar with Honors, and was a member of the SAT 1200 club. I graduated with a 4.09, took multiple AP classes, early college courses, and honors courses. I hold a part-time job at Chick-Fil-A and have worked there for about a year. At my high school, I was a 4 year member of the marching band (choreography leader my 12th grade year) and concert band, a 4 year member of the drama department, a 3 year member of the show choir, a 2 year member of our steel drum ensemble, and had participated in jazz band my final year. I also played varsity soccer my sophomore year and had made the tennis team my senior year. In addition to those activities, I joined the Ecology Club my senior year.
As the school year starts in August, I need funds as soon as possible! Any monetary help or advice on how to gain the funds would be greatly appreciated! I cannot give enough thanks to the people who have already helped me on the way, and would be so grateful to those who continue to help as well! If you have any questions about my post-secondary education plans and career aspirations, I will be more than happy to talk with you!
