Hello, Dearest Friends and Family:
You know me well enough to know that I'd never reach out to you like this if it weren't of the utmost importance to me. As some of you may or may not know, my mother recently suffered a mild stroke, and has been told that is she doesn't significantly change her lifestyle it will lead to another. And, this all comes after losing my step-father, her husband who chose to stay in the house for over a year while battling and eventually losing his life to cancer. Needless to say, it's been an emotional year for the two of us. For those of you who know my story, you know I didn't grow up with a lot of money, and the house she shared with her late husband has suffered due to my mother's loss of her husband, and as her mental and physical health has worsened. As you can imagine, living in a space that no longer feels like a home has added to her stress and poor health. With that said, the house needs a lot of work, and I while I've carved out a life for myself in Los Angeles, I want to help as much as I can in the short time I'm back home to repair, and create an environment she can feel better about living in. The sad truth is that as my mother has gotten older she has progressed into more and more of a recluse and hoarder, and if you've watched any reality show with this subject matter (in the title) then you know that change of any kind is often times extremely difficult to handle or cope with alone. However, I know that if I don't help her improve her living situation now, I may never have another opportunity to again. If you know my mother, I would ask that you please use discretion and not discuss topic with her as it's such a sensitive trigger. My goal is simple: to clean out the house as thoroughly as possible and repair the walls, floor and anything that has suffered from this debilitating mental illness. Please feel free to give what you can. Anything at all is appreciated. I sincerely thank you for your time, love, and friendship.
