Educational Opportunity of a Lifetime

My name is Christopher Robinson and I am an 12-year-old 6th grader and honors student at Bates Academy In Detroit. I am writing to you about an extremely special opportunity that I have been blessed to be a part of. I have been selected to become a People to People Student Ambassador to Europe and the United Kingdom. In June of 2014, with your support, I will join a delegation of 30 students my age on a 14-day educational program that will take us through London, England and Paris, France. Our curriculum will teach us about the history, culture, and the people of the regions. After all, there is no better way to learn about culture than to experience it firsthand. I am super excited at the opportunity to bring the pages of a history book to life as I travel back in time in Europe, train as an honorary knight, walk along the beaches of Normandy, see Shakespeare's birthplace, and go underground to see secret World War II hideaways. During my 14-day adventure, I'll also see Paris from the top of the Eiffel Tower, spend a day in Disneyland Paris, and take a ride on the world's largest Ferris wheel! I will have the opportunity to see the world with a newfound perspective after experiencing these fun and cultural activities that I'm sure will inspire my imagination and help me understand my place in learning history. Needless to say, I am incredibly excited. I will be paying my way and raising money to cover the costs of the program. I will need to make/raise approximately $6500 to cover all of my costs. Because of that, I am reaching out to you in hopes that you will give a donation to help sponsor my trip.
