Give Liz Life!!!

This is Liz Black - aka Lizzie, Bizzie, Lisabeth, mom to Jen, stepmom to Jamie, partner to Brandon, sister, cousin, friend and just all round amazing person. I have the privilege of calling Liz my cousin. We have travelled, we have laughed and we have cried together. I was blessed to be there for the birth of Jen (her miracle) and I hope we can be of some help. Liz has overcome SO many challenges - she lost her mom to cancer in her 2001, her dad to Parkinson’s and in 2010 - what she thought was a benign growth in her foot ended up being a sinovial sarcoma (cancer). And the only way the doctors treat it is to cut it out. So - Liz lost her lower left leg to save her life. After intense chemo we thought she had beaten it!In 2014 Liz had her miracle baby - Jen - who has been a complete blessing in her life! Late 2016 - another blow!!! - the cancer was back - devastating - as it meant the first round of chemo didn’t kill the cancer!!! This involved more surgery. All seemed well until Aug 2017 when 4 more tumours were found!Liz has vowed to fight. She has endured intense, crazy chemo every 3rd week - involving a week stay and chemo 24hours a day. It’s WILD! And the chemo is shrinking the tumours. Now, Liz needs more surgery - to remove a few ribs, some of her lungs and chest cavity. This life saving treatment can ONLY be done in the US. As you can imagine - the costs are astronomical - ZAR1.5-2m/USD170k excl flights etc. But - it’s her only chance! An appeal will be made to medical aid but the majority of the costs will need to be borne by Liz. With each contribution - be it big or small - we can get Liz one step closer to seeing her baby grow up.
