Rachel and Isaac

Hello, I am Sandy Johnson, a friend of Rachel and her family. Yesterday Rachel and Isaac were in a terrible auto accident in DeKalb. Rachel was life flighted to Rockford with many broken bones and damage to her colon and a fracture to her back. They are not sure yet how extensive the damage is to her back or whether she will need surgery or not on her back. She is getting ready to go in for surgery on her other leg now and may need a few more surgeries when her body is stabilized enough to do so. She is highly sedated but occasionally flickering her eyes which is a good sign.Isaac was taken by ambulance from Kish to Rockford Memorial by ambulance with a broken collar bone and damage to his colon. He has had his colon repaired and appendix taken out but is currently still recovering in the hospital!As you can imagine, the family is devasted and trying to go back and forth between the two hospitals they are in! Being that Rachel is single mother of three teenagers (which she takes care of like a champ) and will be off of her feet for a long recovery period, the families finances will be strained. Rachel is a very proud strong person and doesn't like to ask for help. But she absolutely is going to need it financially for awhile. If you could help them even a small amount, it would be appreciated!All the love of calls and texts and are pouring in and I cant wait until Rachel wakes up to know just how much love is pouring in! Her family is grateful to you all for checking on her. I will try to update this page as often as I can so the family can concentrate on Rachel and Isaac!
