Christian Rojas Memorial Service

Donation protected
My beloved son, Christian Rojas, passed away suddenly this past weekend at the age of 22. He was camping in central New York and got separated from the group he was with. In the early hours of Sunday, we received a call that he was reported missing. A coordinated effort by local, county, and state law enforcement, EMS personnel, and volunteers was launched; on Monday they found my son deceased.

Christian was a kindhearted young man who had nothing but compassion for others. He would look out for others and help those less fortunate or those who were going through tough times whenever and however he could. He was a dedicated student of life, and his curiosity was endless. He wanted to genuinely know people as individuals, so he would talk to everyone he met and listen to their stories with respectful interest. Christian left a positive imprint in everyone who knew him.

Christian was about to enter his Spring Semester at City College next week and had recently earned his black belt in Karate; his dedication to the martial arts was truly inspiring. He was full of creativity- and you could often find him drawing or writing, and playing or listening to music; he drew inspiration from all genres. He loved animals, and it would not be unusual to see him buy a can of food to feed a stray cat he encountered. He loved stories and had a wonderful sense of humor. Christian was a much-loved son, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend.

We will be holding a memorial and funeral service for Christian this weekend (Saturday, January 27 from 5pm-9pm with a priest to speak a few words, and Sunday, January 28 from 2pm-9m) so that everyone will have an opportunity to say goodbye and celebrate his life. We welcome all those who knew Christian to join us at the Crestwood Funeral Home (445 W 43 ST, New York, NY, 10036) to share memories of our times with Christian.

It has not been easy writing any of this. And it’s not easy asking this, but we will need help in covering the costs of the services. In lieu of flowers, any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading this. And for your all your help and support during these difficult times.
