Our mom's liver transplant/recovery

Hello family, friends and acquaintances. Our mom needs your help. Many years ago she contracted Hepatitis C after receiving some tainted blood during a hospital stay. Unfortunately she was unaware of this for years and during that time the disease damaged her liver. After discovering she had contracted this, and under doctors care, she managed to slow down her liver deterioration. However, the time has come to where she needs a transplant.
The good news is that she has gone through preliminary testing and is #1 in line in her blood group to receive a transplant. That means it could happen at any time. She'll undergo surgery, once a liver is available, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. The surgeons there are some of the best in the country at performing these procedures. While her insurance will partially cover the cost of the transplant there will be many other costs associated with the surgery and her recovery. She will be unable to work for months while she recovers and that is why we're asking for help. We will support her financially as much as we can but we can't do it alone. Costs of living expenses in addition to paying her bills during recovery are needed. Funds will be used for medical expenses not covered by insurance, food, housing during recovery, and other expenses that may arise.
Our mom is a loving friend, 'nanna' to 4 beautiful grandchildren, and wonderful mom to us. She has always been there for us her whole life and we love her so much. She has a strong will and even stronger faith, albeit, the last few years have been tough on her mentally and physically while becoming sicker. Although we have no doubt that after she receives her transplant she'll be back to her old self eventually. Please consider helping her during this scary and trying time.
