Cote Family

Hi, my name is Paul Ennis and I’m starting this GoFundMe page for a very close friend and co-worker. Please join me in helping out the Cote Family. I have worked with Jerry Cote for many years and I can honestly say he is one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure to call my friend. Jerry and his family have had a tough time as of late and have incurred a lot of debt with medical bills. I am trying to raise money for the Cote Family so they can get back on their feet. Any help would go a long way. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please share this. Below is a brief summary of some of the struggles the Cote Family have had to deal with.

Have stage 3 melanoma. Started on right leg. Had operation to remove in July 2017. Had second operation to remove cancer from upper groin and thigh. At that time, 15-20 lymph nodes were removed. Lymphadema developed following operation. Had drainage tubes for over a month in upper thigh. Became infected. Took 2 months to start walking.

Jerry started physical therapy in October 2017. Started immunotherapy October 24th. Each session costs $98,000 (thankfully most of it covered by insurance). Developed some serious side effects from the immunotherapy infusions: swollen pituitary, major thyroid problems, and a full body rash that landed Jerry in the hospital for 5 days at Christmas. With a constant piercing headache that lasted for a month. Found out about the cancer a little while after finding out his wife was pregnant. They had a baby on 12/3/17. After all the ups and downs of last year, concentrating on family and enjoying the little things in life. Developed blurry vision and constant shaking from complications. Jerry still has his stupid sense of humour. “Can't be depressed all the time”. Jerry’s words. If anyone knows Jerry they know he is a funny guy and genuinely loves to make people laugh.
