Our precious Juliana
Donation protected
Our precious niece Juliana was born 10/18/13. She was sent home
with mom on Sunday 10/20/13. After being home a little over a day Juliana
stopped eating. On Tuesday she went to the pediatrician for her checkup. The
pediatrician told Amanda and Steve that she had lost some more weight, but to
just keep trying to feed her anyway she would accept it. When they got back
home they tried formula and breast milk, but Juliana couldn't keep anything
down. She continued to projectile vomit every time she was fed. By dinner time
everyone had enough, and knew something was wrong. Amanda and Steve decided to
take their 4 day old daughter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She
was admitted to the NICU that night. As time went on her stomach began to get
distended. They ran all sorts of tests, and finally a biopsy to test for Hirschsprung's
disease. On Monday 10/28/13 we received the results that Juliana had tested
positive for Hirschsprung's Disease. Hirschsprung's Disease is an intestinal
disorder that can result in a number of medical problems. Juliana is now in the
process of being transported to CHOP- the Children's hospital of Philadelphia
where they have a team dedicated to working with this disease in children. Amanda
and Steve need our support to help with the piling medical bills that Juliana
will have from transport to CHOP to the surgery and the recovery and for their expenses
as well.
We love you Juliana<3 & of course mommy and daddy too!
