We are raising money for Homelessness and Domestic and Family Violence on the Central Coast, NSW.
Throughout August and September 2021, Georgia and Amber are walking 500kms to raise funds for Coast Shelter, an organisation that provides support to people who are experiencing homelessness and domestic violence on the Central Coast, NSW.
- In 2020, the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) revealed that the Central Coast has the second highest rates of domestic and family violence in NSW.
- Domestic violence is one of the leading pathways into homelessness.
- The impact of COVID-19 and recent natural disasters have contributed to a housing crisis on the Central Coast.
- The Central Coast is seeing extremely low rental vacancy rates which in turn, impacts people experiencing homelessness and domestic and family violence.
- COVID-19 is having detrimental impacts globally - even more so for those who are the most in need.
We're doing 500kms for an important cause.
