50 miles in October in loving memory of Leslie H

As some of you are aware our beloved grandad passed away on the 7th of June 2020 as you can imagine this came as a big shock to our whole family. Leslie fell ill in late September of 2019 and was diagnosed with mesothelioma in October 2019  he was only given up to 1 year to live however he sadly passed after 7 short months. He underwent chemo therapy but sadly it didn’t help as much as we were hoping, so we had to live each day as it come. This journey was tough as you can imagine and just before we thought things couldn’t get worse there was a outbreak of Covid-19, so Leslie spent his last few months of his life stuck inside while we also couldn’t see him as much as we wanted to. Having such a nasty cancer of the lung meant that Leslie needed caring for 24 hours of the day who was provided by our wonderful nan but also by Sue Ryder who went out of there way every single time to make sure that our grandad had everything that he needed. They come out  to his home to assess him, they made various phone calls to our nan everyday to check how he was getting on, they was even there when he took his last breath. Also when he passed they made sure that our nan had everything that she needed! Sue Ryder only run of fundraised money and this is why we would love the chance to raise money for them and also make our Grandad proud!❤️

The walk/run will be carried out by Jenayah and Lavonte. We will be walking/running the 50 miles by November 5th. We will be posting regular updates so please look out for them.
