Helping Hands For Lincoln Tidwell

Lincoln Richard Tidwell was born early morning on December 27, 2017.  He is the first child for Justin and Amanda Tidwell.  Still newlyweds and so excited to meet their sweet boy, Justin and Amanda had no preparation for the events that would unfold as soon as Lincoln entered the world.  Almost immediately, Lincoln was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension and placed in the NICU.  Within a day, he was transferred to Cook’s Children Hospital to be monitored closely.  Over these last two weeks, Lincoln has been on a major roller coaster, enduring and withstanding more than any baby ever should.  Currently, Lincoln is on ECMO, a machine used to bypass his lungs with blood flow from his heart.  This machine allows him to rest completely and hopefully, heal.  While on ECMO, many tests and cultures are being done in hopes of finding a treatable, underlying cause for his pulmonary hypertension. While Lincoln is receiving the best possible care, (which we are so grateful for!) his parents are completely unprepared financially for the daily mountain of costs accruing.  Both have had to take leave from their jobs making income decrease significantly. Because Lincoln was born so close to the new year, the amount of out of pocket expenses the insurance requires is double from a normal hospital stay.  Additionally, without answer yet, we don’t know know when these costs will stop accruing.  As a family, we believe that “many hands make light work” and when those “many hands” come together, the individuals and families helping receive a blessing as partners in what God is doing in and through Lincoln.  So many of you have asked how you can help this family beyond prayer and we’d like to offer you this opportunity.  Above all, we are more than grateful for your continued prayers for Lincoln and the outpouring of love you have shown to Justin and Amanda and to our whole family.  Whether you can help with these costs or not, your prayers are invaluable to us and we are so thankful!!Many blessings to each one of you for holding our family and sweet Lincoln so close to your hearts.
